FAQ- Art In Motion Tattoos
Welcome to the Art In Motion Tattoos FAQ!
Here you’ll find answers to our most common questions — from booking appointments to tattooing minors.
Do you do cover-ups or touch-ups?
Yes. We offer cover-ups, retouching, and color enhancement for existing tattoos. Bring in photos (or yourself) and let’s talk about your options.
Can I email you with questions or design ideas?
Yes! You can click here to email us or call 719-636-1114.
We do prefer to speak in person or over the phone — it’s just easier to make sure we’re on the same page.
Do you take walk-ins?
We do, on a first-come, first-served basis, if time allows that day.
Want to avoid the wait? Call ahead and check our availability.
Where are you located?
📍 927 E Fillmore, Colorado Springs — 2 miles east of I-25, across from Pizza Hut in the Fillmore Business Park.
If you get lost, give us a call and we’ll guide you in.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Every tattoo is unique. Price depends on size, detail, placement, and time needed.
Our starting rate is $85–$100, but for an exact quote, we recommend a consultation.
What safety methods do you use?
We follow strict health protocols, using new, sterile needles and ink for each client, and sterilizing all equipment in a medical-grade autoclave.
Does it hurt?
Pain varies for everyone. Most people say it’s more annoying than unbearable. Some areas (ribs, feet) are more sensitive than others.
How do I set up an appointment?
Come into the shop with your ideas and references.
Meet with the artist and discuss the design, placement, and details.
Leave a $100 cash deposit to lock in your spot.
💡 Can’t come in? Call or email your references (JPEG format) and we’ll arrange payment by phone or mail.
How far out are you booked?
It depends on the artist, your design, and the season. The fastest way to find out is to call us — we do not give scheduling info via email.
What styles do you offer?
We tattoo just about everything, including:
Portraits
Bio-Mechanical & Bioorganic
Realism, Neo-Traditional, Fantasy, Nature
Spiritual, Celtic, Art Nouveau, Renaissance & Contemporary Fine Arts
Tribal, Abstract, Japanese/Oriental styles
What references should I bring?
Bring anything that will help — photos, sketches, objects, or printed images.
If possible, bring copies instead of originals. Your artist may need to keep them for drawing purposes.
What should I do before my appointment?
Eat beforehand
Avoid alcohol/drugs for at least 2 days prior
Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the tattoo area
Bring water or juice
Let us know about any medical conditions or allergies
We reserve the right to refuse service if you are under the influence of anything.
How do I take care of my tattoo?
Keep the bandage on overnight
Wash gently the next morning with fingertips & mild soap
Apply thin coats of A&D ointment twice daily for 4 days
Switch to fragrance-free lotion for 2 weeks
Avoid swimming, soaking, and sun exposure for at least 2 weeks
Don’t pick or scratch
