About Art In Motion Tattoos

Where Creativity Meets Colorado Springs Vibes
Welcome to Art In Motion Tattoos, where art isn’t just on the walls. It’s in the air, on the skin, and in the stories we help you tell. We have been tattooing since 2004. Our owner and lead artist, Don Davis, started the shop with a clear goal. He wanted to create a place where every client feels welcome. He also aimed for every tattoo to be unique. Finally, he wanted every experience to be memorable.

Our Story

Don has been tattooing for over 34 years. He has built a team of skilled and friendly artists. They can handle any style you want. This includes delicate fine-line florals and bold full-color backpieces.

We’ve been proud to call Colorado Springs our home since the beginning. Over the years, we’ve tattooed many people — military members, college students, first-timers, collectors, and everyone else. Whether you want a special memorial tattoo, a quick walk-in design, or a custom sleeve you’ve dreamed of, we can help.

The Art in Our Motion

We believe tattoos are more than just ink, they’re wearable stories. Our artists take the time to listen, sketch, and collaborate so that every piece feels personal to you. No cookie-cutter flash-and-dash. No rushed work. Just custom designs you’ll love for life. Because a masterpiece deserves expert preservation, we recommend following our Day-by-Day Aftercare Guide to ensure your color stays vibrant and crisp in our dry Colorado climate.

They not only do great work and take amazing care of their clients, but they treat you like family. You can't go wrong getting inked here!
Absolutely love this place.

I had Sinbad do my work, and couldn't be happier. Sin took the time necessary for getting placement and coloring done, and they turned out great. Will recommend this shop and Sin specifically too.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Art in Motion is hands down one of the best tattoo shops I’ve ever stepped into. The shop itself is immaculate, clean, sterile, and extremely well maintained while still having a ton of personality and character. You can tell immediately that the artists here take both their craft and their environment seriously.

Every artist in the shop is phenomenal. Just looking through their portfolios makes it clear how talented and versatile the team is. There’s a level of artistry here that really stands out.

I was lucky enough to be referred to this shop, specifically to Shelly, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is beyond amazing, a truly talented artist with exceptional skill. I came in with a tattoo from 18 years ago that had been haunting me for a long time. It was a large, poorly done tattoo with blown out Olde English lettering, and I wanted it covered.

I gave Shelly creative control and trusted her to design something that would truly transform it. She did not disappoint. What she created is nothing short of incredible. You cannot even tell that it is a cover up. She transformed something I hated into a true piece of art that I am proud to wear. Her vision, technique, and attention to detail are outstanding.

If you are looking for a shop that is professional, clean, and full of genuinely talented artists, Art in Motion is the place to go. Shelly is absolutely phenomenal, and I am beyond grateful for the work she did.

I have been wanting to start a cover up for over a year and decided to walk in to Art of motion tattoo. I started talking to Don (the owner) and within an hour he was drawing up my tattoo. His work is absolutely insane and has over 30 years experience. He is now working on my second piece and now has a forever customer. Art of motion is awesome and I fully recommend walking in and giving them a try.
